LOCAL 2544 News  NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE UPDATE8/25/2005The parties met August 25, 2005 to exchange initial contract proposals. Present representing the International Association of Machinists Local Lodge 2544, --George Mays, President & Directing Business Representative, District 711 --Billy MacDonald, President Local 2544 --Ronnie Arp, Chief Steward --Steve Walker, Committeeman --Shawn Thompson, Committeeman Present for the Company, (Viskase) --Pat Glarrow --Ron Hopper --Dennis Brennan --Robert Smalling --Carlene Lascola The Companies initial proposal held no surprises and following are the highlights. ****Changes to the absence program which would cause the guidelines to be much stricter. ****Changes to the discharge and suspension language to provide warnings to remain in file for 5 years. ****Overtime would only be paid after working 40 hours. ****Vacation would only accure to 5 weeks eligibility. ****Company proposes the employee pay the entire cost of medical plan. ****Company proposes the Pension Plan cease accure benefits. The Committee will begin actual contracts negotiations on September 8, 2005 [2005][L.L.2544]. All rights Reserved. |
